1800 Year Bath Found in the Ancient City Kibrya
As the result of archaeological excavations 1800 year old hammam found which was built during the Roman era in the ancient city Kibyra in Turkey. It is said to be one of Anatolia's largest bath this 5400 m2 historic building. Archaeologists have said that the bath was heated with a bottom heating system under the marbles. This bath from the Roman era unearthed at the end of the ongoing excavations nearly ten years.
Kibyra ancient city is located on the hills that overlooking to the Gölhisar Plain. It is at the skirts of the Akdag Mountain which placed Gölhisar district that 110 km west Turkey's Burdur province.
Political and economic power of the ancient city, which is spread over about 405 hectares, was starting from the Hellenistic period and reached its zenith during the Roman Empire period.
